How Can Your Child Benefit from an Early Childhood Tutor?

Teaching and Tutoring for Early Childhood Students

Parents come to us when their children are struggling with the foundational skills of math and reading.  Additionally, when young children are frustrated with academic content, tutoring is often the best solution.  Our pre-k, kindergarten, and first grade teachers are Los Angeles’s best tutors when it comes to helping children meet developmental and academic milestones in math and reading.  We can help you determine how best to support your child, if intervention is necessary, and what you as parents can do to help.

Early childhood tutoring can also benefit a wide range of skills, from motor skills, such as handwriting, coordination, tying shoes, to social skills such as getting along with friends and teachers.  We offer support for youngsters to become more independent in school and at home.

How do younger kids get tutored?

Our LA tutors support students as they master learning and executive functioning skillsWe do not believe in one-size-fits-all educational models.  We recreate our curriculum based on each individual student, and spend as much time as necessary getting to know parents and students so that we first match them with the ideal tutor; and second, create the best possible scope and sequence of reading and math skills.  After a few months or even weeks, you’ll see the change in your child’s confidence and sense of self.

Tutoring is something to look forward to!

School isn’t fun for kids who are struggling academically.  They stop wanting to attend classes where they feel less successful than their friends.  One of our most important goals when working with young children is to make tutoring—and before too long, school—fun again.  Teachers who have experience working with 3-6-year-olds know that play has to be incorporated into tutoring for the work to be successful.  Kids look forward to working with our tutors, which in turn makes them look forward to school.  Early intervention, even if it’s just 45 minutes of playing math games each week, is the first step towards a lifetime of confidence and joy in the classroom.

Our teachers offer all of the following:

  1. Creating a positive rapport with the student. Even students who can be timid around adults are quickly put at ease and made comfortable around our tutors.
  2. The best possible curriculum. We come prepared with a variety of games, manipulatives, prompts, and approaches to make sure we differentiate lessons based on each student.
  3. Keeping the parents updated. Our kindergarten tutors make sure to write weekly reports, so parents never lose track of what’s going on in our sessions.  Additionally, we are always available for conversations and check-ins.
  4. A sense of calm and consistency. Just as stress in children can be caused by feelings of inadequacy, stress in adults is caused by fear of what news will come home from school that day.  We offer a service to assuage all that anxiety.  Our teachers work with students to set up on a path to succeed.
